A vintage of challenges and extremes, 2018 will undoubtedly be remembered for the magnificent Pauillac estate on Bordeaux's left bank - Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande.

The second wine of the prestigious Second Grand Cru Classé de Pauillac, La Réserve de la Comtesse 2018 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (53%), Merlot (42%), Petit Verdot (4%) and Cabernet Franc (1%). The wine is matured for 12 months in oak barrels (40% new oak).

On tasting, La Réserve de la Comtesse 2018 seduces with its bewitching aromatic bouquet evolving on notes of ripe black fruit. Notes of pepper and menthol add a lovely freshness. On the palate, the wine evolves smoothly and deliciously, revealing fruit of great aromatic purity and great flavour. The tannins are perfectly blended, giving the wine an elegant, refined structure with a lovely chewy texture. The wine lingers elegantly for a long time on the finish. A great Pauillac red from Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in an exceptional vintage.

Ageing:12 months in French oak barrels (40% new oak)
