Kiichiro Iwai , a silent pioneer of Japanese whisky , and the founder of Mars Whisky.

Mars Whisky named this blended whisky as Iwai in honor of his effort and express our respect and thanks .

This is malt driven spirit is truly a reflection of contemporary Japanese whisky.

Incredibly balanced, soft and layered. A blending of sherry, bourbon and wine casks with hints delicate hints of peat make for a harmonious whisky that would make Iwai-san proud.

Nose: Floral smell of malt and wood

Palate: Powerful, floral, wood, various cask malts and peaty malt

Finish: Pleasant smooth finish

Surrounded by beautiful green forests at an altitude of 798m at the foot of Mt. Kisokoma in the Central Alps of Nagano Prefecture, the Mars Shinshu Distillery stands in the silence of clear air.

In 1985, Hombo Shuzo opened the Mars Shinshu Distillery at the foot of Mt. Kisokoma in the Central Alps of Nagano Prefecture at an altitude of 798m in order to realize the dream of "one day making genuine whiskey that makes the best use of the Japanese climate ."
