That's right, it's another brilliant batch of Laphroaig's cask strength 10 Year Old! This here is batch 12,

which spent its decade of ageing in bourbon barrels before being bottled up at a generous 60.1% ABV.

A wonderfully creamy expression from the much-loved Islay distillery!

Nose: Cigar box and waxy vanilla, with honeyed cereal, toasty oak and buttery shortbread.

Palate: Oak char and burnt sugar, with salted caramel, coffee icing and peppery woody spice alongside hints of nutmeg.

Finish: Milky coffee and green oak, with a maritime savoury note lingering.

Laphroaig Distillery

Our whisky making tradition has been passed down by distillery managers since the first drop rolled off the still in 1815. Ian Hunter, Bessie Williamson, John MacDougal, Denise Nicole, Iain Henderson, John Campbell and our newest Distillery Manager, Barry MacAffer, have all been protective custodians of the art of Laphroaig.

Each brought their own influence, of course, but all respected the unique elements that make Laphroaig the whisky it is. The Kilbride Stream, hand-cut peat, floor malted barley, cold-smoking kilns, mash tuns, copper alchemy and the subtlety of oak aging. Each and every stage crucial in producing the most richly flavored of all Scotch whiskies.
