Fuji Sanroku Tarujyuku 50°

Kirin 50 ° is a blended whisky produced at the Fuji Gotemba distillery built by Kirin in 1973 at the foot of Mount Fuji. Despite its high alcohol volume of 50%, this whisky is soft and easy to drink and can be enjoyed as an aperitif served highball or as a digestive. Exclusively composed of whiskies aged in american oak barrels, the Kirin 50° will not fail to seduce you with its aromas of corn and vanilla so popular to Bourbon whisky enthusiasts.

This attractive blend expresses a perfect balance through its unique mixture of half grain whisky and half single malt. Its round texture is enhanced by the richness of its aromatic bouquet with some of the complexity come from a 20 year old single malt which represents nearly 10% of the malt whisky used in the final blend.

Fuji-Gotemba Distillery

Fuji-Gotemba Distillery is part of the Kirin Group and is located in Gotemba, Shizuoka Prefecture. As the name suggests, the distillery is located right at the foot of Mount Fuji. The location of the distillery is of course very important. With an average temperature of 13 degrees Celsius and an altitude of 620m above sea level, the air is good, the temperature is moderate, and the snow water from Mount Fuji is even purer and cleaner, which is perfect for whisky making.

What is special about this distillery is that it is jointly owned by Kirin and the Canadian JE Seagram and Pernod Ricard groups. Therefore, in addition to making its own whisky, Kirin is also responsible for bottling whisky for different brands, and it also owns two types of stills for malt whisky and grain whisky, the Pot Still and the Continuous Still, and also owns the Coffey Still. We also own two types of stills for malt and grain whisky, the Pot Still and the Coffey Still, as well as the Doubler, a still developed by the Seagram Company.
