Chateau Bibian is one of the wineries in the Haut-Medoc region of Bordeaux, appearing on the Cru Bourgeois list released by L'Alliance des Crus Bourgeois in 2012.
Chateau Bibian is one of the oldest and most renowned vineyards in the Listrac area, and it was the first estate purchased by Pierre-Henri Bibian. In 1987, Jean Tigana acquired the estate. A few years later, the Meyre family purchased the estate and has been managing it since.
The estate currently has 20 hectares of vineyards, with 60% of the land used for growing Merlot, 30% for Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% for Petit Verdot. The average age of the vines ranges from 40 to 70 years. The soil used to cultivate these vines consists of clay-limestone and gravel.
🍷 Exhibits aromas of leather, red fruits, and violet. On the palate, it offers flavors of prune, hawthorn, dark fruits, and a hint of spiciness. After 40 minutes of decanting, notes of prune, minerals, and monk fruit become more pronounced. The wine's body becomes silky, with moderate acidity and a powerful finish. An excellent vintage from 2015, suitable for both aging and immediate consumption.
