No whisky was chillfiltered in the making of this Aberlour, keeping all the flavour from the cask in the whisky, not the filter. It is a 12 year old expression of Highland single malt Scotch whisky with an absolutely gorgeous amber hue, radiant like the sun.

Color:  
Sparkly gold with orange tinges.

Nose:  
Satisfactory, balanced. Notes of noble wood, close to undergrowth (truffle, earth). Gains freshness (coriander) and creaminess (lime blossom honey). Milk chocolate, liquorice and caramel nestle closely with the fruit (apricot, fig, apple).

Palate:  
Powerful, lively. At first, it softens with notes of dark chocolate, apricot and candied orange. Then leather, mushrooms, lichen and deceased leaves bring an autumnal feel followed by a gang of spices (star anise, cumin, cloves).

Finish:
It has a bright, warm register. Fruit jelly (apricot, apple), malt and sherry rub shoulders. The fruit eventually gets the upper hand. The retronasal olfaction brings candied notes (lemon) and honey (lavender).

All our single malts are made with the best local ingredients of barley and soft water from nearby mountain, Ben Rinnes. Our expertly crafted new spirit is usually matured for a minimum of 12 years both in the finest hand-picked Oloroso Sherry butts and American Oak barrels. It’s this double cask maturation which subtly brings together the characteristics of each cask to create a truly rich and rewardingly complex range of single malts.
