The flavor of Single malt whisky (Sherry type) shows floral, a hint of sulfury at the first, following by ripen banana, biscuit, plum, jam, woody and dark chocolate falvors. It has heavy, full, and sweet tastes like the flavor of caramel on the toast. Dired fruit, citrus cake flavor can be found in the after taste. It give the typical sherry cask whisky flavor performance. A hint of sulfury flavor change to smoky flavor rich the body and complexity of this whisky.

Nose: Almond, sultana, red grapes and a few squares of fudge.

Palate: Oily barley, with clove, ginger, cinnamon and layers of milk chocolate and dried fruit.

Finish: Subtly spicy with fresh oak and more dried fruit.

Non-chill filtered bottled at strength of 46% abv to keep the best aroma . The blending batch is done with careful selection and marked on the bottle. Golden color of label represents the richness and mellowness of the fruity sherry whisky. Nantou is the other distillery in Taiwan. Built in 2008 by the state, Omar single malt was launched in 2015. This is the bottling aged in sherry cask, resulting in a full-bodied and intense whisky with notes of caramel, toast, dried fruit and a hint of smoke.

OMAR Nantou Distillery

Blended whiskeys currently serve as the core expression of Nantou Distillery’s products sold in the market. A limited edition of single malt whisky bottled at cask strength versions, exclusively matured in ex-bourbon or ex-sherry casks, was first released in October 2013 and has gained a high reputation. Moreover, at the end of 2014 a “non-chill filtered” single malt whiskey is being expected to make its debut. In addition, Nantou Distillery also produces a variety of fruit wines marketing to the world and the casks that have stored lychee wine and plum wine are then used for maturating wood-finished whiskeys. These particular whiskies thoroughly display Taiwanese terroir and to help create our own styles.
