Martell Blue Swift 700mL

🦅 An Epoch-Making Crossover: The Ultimate Dialogue Between Bourbon Casks and Cognac

• ⚜️ A Historic Breakthrough: The starting point is 100% Martell VSOP Cognac, originally aged in French oak casks, fully complying with the strict regulations of the French Cognac AOC[cite: 1]. Martell pioneered transferring the VSOP into Kentucky bourbon casks for months of secondary maturation (Finished in Bourbon Casks)[cite: 1].
• 🕊️ The Swift Symbol: The bottle and name are inspired by Martell's iconic "Swift," symbolizing the legendary history of Martell first shipping cognac across the Atlantic to America in 1783.

🪵 Flavor Profile: The Ultimate Fusion of French Elegance and American Sweetness

• 🍯 Rich and Warm Aroma: Finished in bourbon casks to integrate the vanilla and toasted oak flavors of bourbon whiskey[cite: 1]. Upon opening, it immediately reveals distinct fruity notes of peach and candied plum, accompanied by rich vanilla, coconut, mint, and toasted oak aromas brought by the bourbon casks.
• ✨ Round and Smooth Taste: The palate experiences the delicate candied fruit and honey sweetness characteristic of cognac, followed by layers of ginger, dark chocolate, and mild spices imparted by the bourbon casks, finishing with a long, round, and smooth aftertaste.

🥃 Versatile Tasting Suggestions

• 🥃 Neat or On the Rocks: Enjoy with a large ice cube; as the ice melts, it gradually releases evolving aromas of vanilla and tropical fruits.
• 🍹 Cocktail Base: Highly suitable for classic cocktails, such as an Old Fashioned, Whiskey Sour, or mixed with Ginger Ale.

1. The Strict Regulations of French Cognac AOC

Cognac AOC regulations strictly dictate that "Cognac" can only be aged in traditional French oak casks[cite: 1].

2. "American Bourbon Casks" Cross the Regulatory Line

• Martell made a bold crossover, conducting secondary maturation in American bourbon casks[cite: 1].
• Once non-traditional casks like bourbon casks are used, the liquid no longer meets the legal definition of "Cognac"[cite: 1].

3. Regulatory Restrictions and Classification

Due to this innovative bourbon "cask finishing" process, it lost the eligibility to be labeled solely as "Cognac" on the bottle, and legally can only be classified and labeled as a "Spirit Drink"[cite: 1].
