A departure from our typically lightly peated single malt, our Heavily Peated Kilkerran is released twice per year at cask strength and around 45PPM. Although the maturation can vary, it is typically matured predominantly in Bourbon casks.

Tasting Notes

Nose : In typical Kilkerran style, there is a citrus element on the nose with notes of lemon and key lime pie, along with touches of toasted rye bread and peat smoke.

Palate : There are notes of toasted marshmallows and campfire embers immediately on the palate, with hints of vanilla and custard.

Finish : The smokiness carries through to the finish, along with a mineral note to round off this dram.

Mitchell's Glengyle

By 1925, with the closure of the Reichlachan and Glengyle distilleries, Springbank and GlenScotia were the only remaining distilleries. The opening of Mitchells Glengyle Distillery on 25 March 2004 increased the number of distilleries in Campbeltown to three, legitimately restoring the town to its position as a major whisky producing region.
