‘Kavalan Classic Single Malt Whisky’ is the first whisky launched by Kavalan. The chief blender selected a variety of oak casks such as bourbon casks, sherry casks, and reloading casks, which have been hardened by Taiwan's unique sub-tropical climate, and then blended with the best ratio to present a balanced and mellow flavour, with a smooth, thick and rich taste, and a multilayered aroma of tropical fruits, which is Kavalan's classic introductory whisky.

The Chinese New Year limited edition gift box is decorated with the rich peony flower, which is honoured as the king of flowers, as the main theme. On the emerald green background of the outer box, the elegant posture of the peony flower is elegantly outlined in gold threads, which sparkles with light; and the bottle is even different from the previous ones, which is decorated with microscopic engraving in gold, which presents an overall image of richness and auspiciousness.

Lively and passionate amber

Flavour

Clean, elegant, floral (pleasant & refreshing fragrance of the butterfly orchid), fruity and seductive. With hints of honey, tropical fruits (mango in particular), pear drop, vanilla, coconuts and suggestions of chocolate.

Palate

A hint of sweet mango juice with that spicy complexity and gentle warmth on a medium, oily and citrus finish.

Tasting

Kavalan classic is the perfect partner for seafood. We suggest sometimes you can dilute Kavalan classic with water, the perfect ratio is "Kavalan Classic 1: Water 5", and add ice to cool.

About KAVALAN

Kavalan Distillery has been pioneering the art of single malt whisky in Yilan County, Taiwan since 2005. Kavalan sources the mineral-rich meltwaters of Snow Mountain and is aged in a unique combination of intense heat and humidity together with sea and mountain breezes. All this combines to create the quality, smoothness, and fruity character for which Kavalan is known.

Water

Our water is drawn from the springs of Snow Mountain and Central Mountains, which are very pure, creamy and clean. That’s one of the reasons Kavalan Whisky tastes so good.

Fermentation

Yeast is added to the wort, turning the sugar into alcohol as well as small amounts of flavour congener. At the Kavalan distillery, there are jacketed layers covering the outside of the washbacks. They are used to control the temperature. If the temperature is not monitored, it could harm the flavour that we want.
