Description
The original Extra-Old Cognac, first bottled in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy for family and friends. Darker and much more complex than the VSOP, with appealing leather and tobacco notes and a touch of spice, a great cigar Cognac. A blend of 100 eaux-de-vie, its deep amber color is a sign of its intensity. At once rich and robust, it constantly reveals layers of flavors with distinctive persistence on the palate.
A continuing dialogue between the past and present, a blend of the Grand Siècles, Richard Hennessy cannot be explained. It simply must be understood. Rare and precious, this Cognac is a product of man’s mastery over time. An unparalleled range of aromas gives Richard Hennessy its unique complexity. Powerful and unexpected, Richard Hennessy reaches heights that approach Cognac perfection.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE: The first wave, rich in dried-fruit aromas such as prunes and dried figs overcomes you.
The aromas evolve to more dense notes of chocolate and black pepper, mellowed by cinnamon, clove and cardamom.
TASTE: Very balanced on the palate, XO confirms the aromas discovered by scent: dried fruit and chocolate.
Elegant and robust, it reveals balance, roundness and harmony among aromas underlined by the strength of peppery notes and vegetable fragrances from the oak.
FINISH: A lovely long afterTaste is enrobed in velvet, conferring the last sweet notes of cinnamon and vanilla.

About Hennessy
FROM GRAPE TO BOTTLE
The process of making cognac is long and sophisticated. Locally grown Ugni White grapes journey through six major steps from the moment they are gingerly picked from their vines to that first sip as an exceptional cognac in your glass.
THE FULLNESS OF TIME
