The Singing Sands is the local name for Islay’s beautiful Traigh Bhan beach. For this captivating place has soft white sands that sing beneath your feet, a hum that ebbs and flows with Islay’s winds and tides.
Incredibly rare, this small batch 19 Year Old Ardbeg greets the senses with a delicate aroma of OLIVE OIL. Curious hints of freshly CUT GRASS, GINGER and SOOT swish on the nose. Fresh PEPPERMINT and BAKED BREAD cascade into classic Ardbeg flavours with CREOSOTE, DARK CHOCOLATE, and the distant whiff of BONFIRE. A long finish carries rich ripples of COFFEE and LIQUORICE that slowly ebb away.
Non-chill filtered.
Oloroso sherry & ex-bourbon cask, ABV 46.2%. 70cl.
Impossibly balanced. Smoky Soot. Dark Chocolate. Peppermint.
Colour: Bright Gold
Aroma: A very curious hint of olive oil greets you, along with touches of tar, soot, chocolate ginger and even some freshly mown grass. Water opens the bouquet up to revel some more classic Ardbeg notes, with fennel, peppermint, eucalyptus, and tarry rope to the fore.
Taste: The mouthfeel is slightly oily, and is followed by an intense, minty sweetness, along with some toasting bread, creosote, coal tar soap and even a whiff of smoked pineapple. The deep, rich, flavours continue, with dark chocolate, peppermint creams, bonfire embers and camphor.
Finish: The finish is reminiscent of coffee grounds and liquorice.
