Aberlour has launched a new version of its 10-year-old single malt whisky, named "Forest Reserve," a name that symbolizes the Scottish distillery's commitment to environmental conservation, particularly in protecting the natural resources of its home region, Speyside.

This new whisky has been matured for at least ten years in both bourbon and sherry casks, followed by an additional finishing in French Limousin oak casks, adding extra layers to its flavor profile.

The final result is a rich and lively whisky, particularly notable for its taste. The liquid presents a deep golden color with a copper sheen, and its aroma carries notes of damp wood, sherry, mint, and candy. The palate leans toward dry with a hint of sweetness, evoking warm honey and spices. The finish is long, centered on spices and accompanied by a subtle bitterness.

Nose:

Fresh oak notes, with hints of lemon blossom, orange peel, and strawberry jam, accented by a touch of vanilla bean.

Palate:

Dominated by melon flavors, complemented by toffee sweetness, hazelnut sugar, and plump raisins, alongside vanilla oak and dried herbs.

Finish:

A tapestry of candied ginger and black pepper, with lingering notes of oatmeal raisin cookies.

All our single malts are made with the best local ingredients of barley and soft water from nearby mountain, Ben Rinnes. Our expertly crafted new spirit is usually matured for a minimum of 12 years both in the finest hand-picked Oloroso Sherry butts and American Oak barrels. It’s this double cask maturation which subtly brings together the characteristics of each cask to create a truly rich and rewardingly complex range of single malts.
